Mike Stamford (マイク・スタンフォード Maiku Sutanfōdo) is a physician in the hospital of St. Bartholomew and a friend of Sherlock's.[1]
Appearance[]
Stanford is a young man of short, chubby stature. He has short brown hair and wears a monocle. He's seen in a white shirt and a darker waistcoat over it along with a dark tie. During his first appearance, he also carries a shoulder bag.
Personality[]
Stanford is a polite and calm person. He seems concerned for Sherlock's apartment and rent situation, offering his help and advice. Unlike Sherlock and Ms. Hudson's expressive attitude, Stanford is rather timid in his way of speaking.[1]
Biography[]
Stanford comes across Sherlock and Ms. Hudson arguing about rent in the middle of the street. After finding out what's going on, he suggests that Sherlock finds a roommate to share rent with. Sherlock and he find some candidates and introduce them to Ms. Hudson, but they are all rejected by her.[1]
Stanford also arranged John as one of the candidates, another friend of his, although he's late and doesn't show up at 221B until after Ms. Hudson and Stanford already left.[1]

Mike Stamford is based on the character of the same name from the original Sherlock Holmes novel A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
