The `Noahtic` Act 1 (ノアティック号事件 第一幕 Noatikku Gou Jiken Dai Ichi Maku) is the sixth episode of MORIARTY THE PATRIOT anime series.
Synopsis[]
William embarks on a new project to make the citizens of London an audience to crimes exposing the skewed nature of the world. For his first performance, he chooses the luxury cruise ship the Noahtic, where he encounters an extraordinary man.
Summary[]
In a forest, a man is chased by dogs and then shot by a man, Count Blitz Enders.
In front of the Noahtic, Blitz is disgusted by the amount of "garbage" low class people which are boarding it. Fred in disguise approaches him, explaining the ship has rooms for three classes, but Blitz comments that Noahtic is like Noah's arc and Noah wasn't a commoner, but with the nobility on the ship, even if the world is lost it can be rebuilt after taking out the trash. Women see Blitz and happily engage in a conversation with him. William shows up and Fred informs him the target is boarding at the scheduled time.
Earlier, William tells his group that the he has been thinking of how imbalanced the country is due to the class system. The system isn't immediately alterable, however there is something they can do and that is to turn London into a crime-filled city. However the human mind is immediately alterable, especially with death which they will choreograph, dramatise, and give significance to, and that will open the eyes of the people. William then reveals their first target, Count Blitz Enders.
Boarding the Naohtic, Blitz bumps into Thomas, which makes Thomas angry that he's trying to board directly and doesn't wait in line like the rest of the people. Blitz calls him a swine, due to his lower class; Moran, also in disguise as a worker, apologizes to Enders for the fuss and ushers him onto the ship. The Noahtic then sails on its pleasure cruise to Amsterdam. They start preparing for the event, with Moriarty's group having paid Thomas Michaelson, a burglar, who had rape and murder on his crime list, to annoy Blitz Enders.
Fred delivers a telegram with unwelcome news to Enders to further agitate him, and while thinking about their plan William stops in front of a spiral staircase. A group of women are impressed by a man who keeps guessing the line of work of other guests. They ask him to guess William's line of work. The man makes a guess that William is a mathematician and starts explaining it as a simple deduction. Even though he was thinking about something, the moment he saw the spiral staircase he stopped and then took a step back and began observing it, making him think that he was interested in the construction of it and not in how beautiful it was. He excludes being an architect or physicist, as his gaze did not fall on the column, meaning he isn't interested in what supports it, but likely the curve being based on the golden ratio.
William compliments him for his observation and confirms he teaches mathematics. William wants to do the same and states that the man plays violin, but isn't a musician, he is adept in fighting or other physical abilities, and is also interested in scientific experiments. William continues to guess right and the man wonders how did he know and William tells him it was obvious, causing the man to start laughing. The women then take the man and want him to continue guessing the jobs of other people.
Blitz, who received news of his cottage being burnt down and some accident occurred at his colliery, is close to loosing it. Thinking more about it makes him only more angry and he realizes he can make this his hunting ground, as there is plenty to hunt outside the nobility. He sees Thomas and invites him to his room in the pretext to apologize for earlier and give him some good liquor. While looking at the liquor and thinking he may steal more later, Blitz attacks him from behind and kills him. Sebastian informs William of Thomas' death and that he had unlocked the room. William then goes to Blitz, stating that the women heard a scream and he came to check on him. He opens the door, surprising Blitz who thought he locked it, and ends up finding Blitz over Thomas' body.
