The Scarlet Eyes Act 2 (緋色の瞳 第二幕 Hiiro no Hitomi Dai Ni Maku) is the third episode of the MORIARTY THE PATRIOT anime.
Synopsis[]
Albert invites the brothers to come live at the Moriarty's estate, but the pair are not warmly welcomed by the other members of the household. Albert grows increasingly disturbed by his family's intolerance, and resorts to drastic measures.
Summary[]
Albert decides to invite William and Louis to live with them. Countess Moriarty isn't happy that it will be two orphans, but Earl Moriarty has trusted Albert's decision and accepted it. Moriarty impresses the nobility and duchess Penieres for not only taking two orphans, but even helping and paying for the operation of Louis, who is sick.
William and Louis start to live in the house and help out with various tasks. The real William asks Louis to make him tea, but as Louis prepares him, William pours it on the ground, stating he can't drink tea made by someone of his class and then orders him to clean the carpet. William then comes and offers to clean it himself, however the real William is not satisfied with that and explains that he needs to teach the lower class a lesson and throws him a fork. William picks it up and stabs his hand, surprising the real William. Later that night, Louis wonders why Moriarty had taken then and if was out of aristocratic obligation or sympathy of his illness, but as either way he helped them, he wonders what he has to gain from that. William explains that both sides gain something and they need to wait a little bit longer to see what Albert seeks from them, although he can guess it already.
During dinner, Albert is angry at his family talking lowly of the lower class. At night, the real William heads into William and Louis' room trying to place some silverware and blame him for stealing. However, Albert, William and Louis had started their plan and find the real William in their room. William breaks a chair and gives a piece of wood to Albert, who then proceeds and stabs the real William. The three of them proceed to turn on the gas lamps in the house and set up the clock to pull the trigger of a gun at 3AM. They hide in safety and at 3Am, the house explodes. While exiting the burning house, Louis takes a piece of burning wood and burns his cheek, commenting that will make their story more true as three uninjured children may look suspicious. Albert recalls how he invited them to live with him and how he will give him all the fortune, standing and his life for William to use and accomplish the beautiful world he mentioned. As they get out of the house, Albert tells the firefighters his name and that William and Louis are his brothers.
