Summary[]
Sherlock begins to tell the next part of the past three years in New York.
In Brooklyn, Sherlock and William are talking over coffee in their shared new apartment. Billy comes by and joins them, formally meeting William for the first time. He wants to explain the situation in the US, as well as the job Sherlock and he are doing. The three take a walk through town before settling down to talk.
Billy goes over the history of the US, explaining how due to the second amendment and historical factors it is not easy for the government to control the people and maintain balance. The Pinkerton Detective Agency has thus resorted to strategic analysis and using intelligence to solve situations rather than violence, hence why they recruited Sherlock and William.
Billy asks William to join, but he still needs more time to decide. Billy understands, though he still asks what's most important for an operation. William tells him to only use local people and not give too much information to those carrying out the mission, the same answers Sherlock gave.
On the way back, Billy overhears two kids fighting. He interrupts, telling them not to accuse each other of betrayal so lightly. Back at the apartment, Sherlock has received new orders. When Billy reads them, he suddenly asks to join.
