Earl Blitz Enders (ブリッツ・エンダース伯爵 Burittsu Endāsu Hakushaku) is a popular British noble who inherited his family's fortune and estate. In secret, he hunts and murders commoners on his property grounds.

Appearance[]

Blitz is a young, good-looking man, shown to be slightly taller than William who is 185 cm. He has pale blond hair and light blue eyes.

Enders is usually seen wearing a dark suit, accompanied by a cravat, bowler hat, and waistcoat. For more formal occasions, he wears a black morning coat accompanied by a light waistcoat and bow tie.

Personality[]

Blitz Enders is an arrogant and showy noble that's nonetheless quite popular with women due to his handsome appearance.

He has an extremely low opinion of commoners and the lower class, disgusted by their presence and thinking they are no different than animals. In return, he sees nobility as God's chosen people and has a feeling of superiority over the rest of the population. Due to this mindset, he has no issue killing people of the lower classes, even doing so for fun.

Enders is shown to have an extremely short temper, snapping at a small child for accidentally bumping into him and even going so far as to threaten her for it. When he becomes too angry and stressed he resorts to his past-time of killing to calm himself down. He does not appear to be particularly smart, as he genuinely believed Thomas, his victim, could come back after being stabbed twice. He also made no effort trying to hide the body after the murder despite being on a populated boat. He also is rather cowardly, running away from the police and even attempting to Climb the chimneys of the Noahtic to escape punishment.

He is of the opinion that life is not worth living if not as a noble, committing suicide when he is faced with the possibility of imprisonment.

Biography[]

Count Blitz Enders is a man devoid of any humanity who believes that only nobles are the true humans, while the lower class are nothing but livestock. Because of this mindset, Enders has developed a habit of murdering commoners on his hunting grounds, killing at least one.

The Noahtic[]

Enders is a passenger of the newly built ship the Noahtic, but expresses his disgust at commoners being allowed to board the vessel he deemed only fit for the nobility. Going further as to say that Noah who built the arc, for whom the ship was named after, must have been a man of nobility and that the world was flooded to dispose of commoners.

After catching the attention of a few noble ladies, Enders brings them aboard the Noahtic while jumping the line, angering a commoner named Thomas who demands he wait in line like everyone else. Blitz ignores Thomas, calling him a swine, due to his lower class. Moran, a worker, apologizes to Enders for the fuss and ushers him onto the ship. The Noahtic then sails on its pleasure cruise to Amsterdam.

Afterwards, Enders receives a series of bad luck, such as not having a reservation for a meal, a young girl bumping into him and spilling her juice (Who he threatens to kill in the anime and her mother in the manga), and his cottage and coal mines being destroyed. This makes him angry and he “forgives” Thomas by offering him whiskey. When his guard is down, Enders kills him, and smokes a cigarette afterwards.

William then appears in the room, and Enders lies and claims Thomas tried to rob him. William debunks his claims, but lies and says he believes him anyway, They dispose of the corpse, which unknown to Enders was actually kept in a boat. Enders then invites his friend, another nobleman, to the ballet show on an upper box. His friend then leaves and William appears in the box, and gives him a pair of binoculars. Enders then sees Thomas staring back at him, and panics, running down to him only to find he left the play and is now in the bottom of the ship. Enders panics and goes downstairs, finding Thomas’s body. Enders then stabs him repeatedly.

Unbeknownst to Enders, the area where he found Thomas’s body is actually a lifting platform, and William has him exposed. Enders at first weakly tries to defend himself before stating that due to his status as a noble he is far more important than anyone he killed. His now former noble friend rebukes him in disgust, before Enders tries to kill him. However, Sherlock Holmes proceeds to kick him and make him drop his knife, and orders the crew to arrest Enders.

Enders, having apparently lost his mind, panics and runs away, imagining himself as a commoner and the police as his hunting dogs. Eventually he tries to climb the funnels, declaring himself to be chosen by God himself, before getting shot in the foot, making him slide down. He attempts to grab a rope but his hand is shot, making him fall. As he does he notices William smiling at him and realizes that everything was a set up, before falling into the ocean and drowning.

Ender’s death would serve as the first example of a noble’s crimes being exposed, being the first step in the Moriarty’s plans.

Trivia[]

  • While his title is officially given as "Count" in the English VIZ translation, according to real life British peerage conventions, his title should have been "Earl".
  • "Blitz" is German for "lightning".
  • He has a rather distorted view about the story of Noah's ark. He thinks of Noah as a noble for being chosen by god, unable to see Noah saved lives regardless of any factors.
  • Blitz was the first pawn of Moriarty to be an adversary to Sherlock Holmes.
